Wendelline Eugene Dellimore Downie Perry's Obituary
Wendelline Eugene Dellimore Downie Perry, affectionately known as Dell, passed away on May 25, 2024, at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugarland Texas.
Born to Elaine and Fitzroy Dellimore on January 06, 1945, in St. Vincent, West Indies. Dell was a cherished member of Dopwell/Dellimore family. Sister to Maureen, Stanley, and Richard (Dick).
She came to the US in 1969, and later became a citizen. For over 40 years, she was a devoted church member at various churches in Brooklyn. In the early 1970's, she was ordained as an Evangelist, through
which her passion for God, the Bible and its rich history left an indelible mark on the lives of many people
In the 1980's, as a result of her diligent works, she was later called and chosen to become the pastor of Zion Ministry, through which her love for her members, her wise counsel and her devoted leadership,
positively impacted the lives of many. Her commitment to the church was evident through her volunteering to accommodate and feed visiting ministers. Dell was an avid cook, baker, and a keen theologian. She also graced many with her talent as a pianist.
Dell is survived by her three children: Oralline (Pam) France, Nicole (Nicki) Fraser, and Errol Downie (Jr). Four grandchildren: AJ, Marcus, Shanice, and Ethan. Preceded in death are her parents, Elaine and Fitzroy Dellimore, her husband Winsett Perry, and grand-daughter Misty Dawn France.
Dell’s memory will be kept alive by her children, grandchildren, sister, brothers, cousins, family, friends, and community.
The service to honor and celebrate the life of Wendelline Perry will be held on June 28, 2024, at 11:00
a.m. at Pinelawn Cemetery, located at 2023 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY where she will be laid to rest.
Speaker will be Pastor Marcus Soleyn. Attendees can share memories and reflections on Dell's life.
Dell will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed
to know her.
