Virginia Ann Estep's Obituary
Virginia Ann Estep, 75, beloved mother and grandmother "Memee", passed away on Monday August 3, 2020 at her home in Dayton, Texas. She was born September 29, 1944 in Center, Texas to her late parents Joe Olen and Edna L Latham. She was preceded in death by siblings Jesse, Glenda, Joe and Lois. Virginia is survived by her husband Delbert Estep, to whom she was married for 59 years. She is survived by siblings Ruby, Hugh, Myrtie, Barbra, Kathy, Shirley, Dorothy, Jerry, Brenda and John. She is survived by her son Jackie and his wife Tammy, grandson Daniel and his wife Tamika, daughter Tracy and her husband Bryan, granddaughter Magen and her husband AJ, soon to be great- grandson Hunter, grandson Christopher and his girlfriend Makayla. Virginia loved crafting, painting, gardening, quilting, shopping, shopping and did we say shopping.... she loved spending time with her loved ones, celebrating the holidays in a big fashion and spoiling her dog Precious. Virginia was a Godly Christian woman and was a devoted member of the Grace Community Baptist Church for many years. Virginia's love of children led to a lifelong career in childcare. Starting in 1972 and progressing to being Director of Early Childhood Development Lab school at San Jacinto College, where she worked for 26 years. Virginia defied the odds for 17 years fighting what started as breast cancer. She was told many times that she did not have much longer, but proved them wrong every time. She absolutely loved to advocate for the Cause. Many times, she did inspirational speeches, breast cancer walks, and made care packages for other cancer patients, all while while fighting the battle herself. She inspired so many people with her undying faith, courage, strength, and perseverance throughout her life, in everything that she did. Gone but not forgotten, she will be forever loved and missed.
