Timothy Lee West Sr.'s Obituary
Timothy Lee West Sr. (also known as Timmy and Tim), age 80 years, passed away on April 6, 2024. He was born on January 28, 1944 in Goodman, Missouri to Rev. Richard Lyle and Edna Mae Carter West, one of ten children.
Tim loved his family and enjoyed spending time with all of his loved ones. He was especially fond of the children as kids all loved him. He was a good sport and was always in on a joke. He had a great sense of humor and his family loved to see him laugh. He enjoyed collecting guns, knives, coins and old western movies, but he enjoyed spending time with family and friends more than anything else.
Tim was very proud to have been a longshoreman and to have worked with such good people. He always loved sharing his memories of the people that he worked with and was quick to tell you that he was a member of ILA Local 24. He was also longtime member of the United Pentecostal Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Evelyn Idom, Kathryn Charlton, Darlene Shellar, Letha Merimon and David West, and his grandson, Dakota Lynn Nelson. He is survived by his children, Timothy Lee West Jr. and wife Tihara of Manvel, Texas, Terry Lynn West and wife Emily of Kingsville, Texas and Tracy Leanne West and fiancé Jeremy Jones of Corinth, Mississippi; stepdaughter, Michelle Smith Connor; stepson, Wallace Smith; grandchildren, Daniel West of Ozark, Alabama, Amanda “West” Kingsbury of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Tera Nicole DeLeon of Manvel, Ashley Michelle Mair of Manvel, Wynzlea Smith, Karrah Connor, and Emily, Mason and Hunter West of Kingsville; great grandchildren, Katelijn West, Arianna Nelson, Adelina DeLeon and Elijah Kingsbury; siblings, Florene Morris of Buna, Texas, Linda Singleton of Noesho, Missouri, Gerald West Sr. of Alvin, Texas and Larry West Sr. also of Alvin; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and in-laws.
Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 am until 11 am on Friday, April 12, 2024 at The River church, 970 Dell Dale Avenue, Channelview, Texas 77530, where a funeral will begin at 11 am. A graveside service will follow at 3:30 pm in the Antioch Cemetery, 1850 FM 1004, Buna, Texas 77612.
