Terri Mackey Stanley's Obituary
TERRI MACKEY STANLEY - 9/01/1966 - 7/24/2023
TERRI GAIL STANLEY, 56, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, friend and faithful servant of God, passed away July 24, 2023 after suffering from a recent stroke due to diabetes. She was born on September 1, 1966 in Houston, Texas, and lived in the surrounding areas throughout her entire life. A devoted wife to her husband of nearly 37 years, Thomas Laurence “Larry” Stanley III, and mother to her two cherished children, son Kyle Stanley and daughter Katherine “Katy” Stanley.
Terri held great pride in sharing her faith and love for the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated homemaker and eventually started a catering company where she developed a reputation for serving her clients and guests with delicious hot food, cold drinks and plenty of smiles. Terri eventually went on to found a non-profit organization, Blessings From Home which most notably advocated for active duty military personnel. She was instrumental in event planning and fundraising such as creating a successful motorcycle rally, “ Ride 4 Our Troops” which benefited every branch of military service with the donation of care-packages to soldiers overseas during Operation Iraqi Freedom. And she managed to perform these tasks in spite of her near-lifelong struggle with Type 1 diabetes and other conditions that limited her mobility in recent years. Terri was a friend to all animals, and her pets were always doted on with much love and affection. We must mention her passion for decorating the house elaborately for nearly every major holiday, most notably Christmas.
In addition to her husband Larry, who passed away in June 2022, Terri is also preceded in death by her adored parents, Earl and Elizabeth “Bitsy” Mackey, her brothers James Earl Mackey and Kenneth “Kenny” Cole and sister Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Mackey.
She is survived by her children Kyle and Katy Stanley, both of Sugar Land, Texas, sister Cynthia Remeny of Kemah, TX, brothers, Craig Cole of Midlothian, TX, Johnny Cole of Conroe, TX, Bryant Mackey of Burton, TX, Chuck Cole and Tommy Mackey both of Sugar Land, Texas, and her dear aunts Linda Uhlenhoff of Katy, TX and Martha Heathcott of Missouri City, TX, along with numerous family in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends throughout her journey of life.
Terri shall remain in our hearts forevermore.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, August 2 at 11:00 a.m.
@ Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston, Texas
