Shane Dean Schindler Sr.'s Obituary
Shane Dean Schindler, Sr., age 55, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Sealy, Texas. He was born on July 26, 1970, in Houston, Texas.
Shane was raised in Tarkington Prairie, a small community north of Houston. Shane worked as an ironworker for much of his life, a trade that reflected his practical skills and hands-on nature. Those who knew him remember him as charming and funny, with a quick wit and an easygoing personality. Shane was also known for spontaneously breaking into song—often a big ballad—bringing unexpected humor and lightness to the moment. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, fast cars, and valued the time he spent with his twin brother, Shawn.
Shane is survived by his fiancée, René Wilson; his children, Shane Schindler, II and wife Melissa Schindler, Jessica Amador and husband JJ Amador, Destiny Schindler, and Devin Schindler and fiancée Makayla Burkett; and his grandchildren, Shane Schindler, III, Austin Schindler, Rian Schindler, Alyssa Amador, and Aaliyah Amador.
He is also survived by his mother, Ginger Schattel, and stepfather, Anthony Schattel; his father, Larry Schindler, and stepmother, Sheila Schindler; his siblings, Shawn Schindler and wife Eva Schindler, Candis Swan, Charlotte Schindler, Kimberly Browning and husband Randall Browning, Colette Murdoch and husband Chris Murdoch, and Melissa Watson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 2, 2026, at New Covenant Church, 901 Wilson Road, Humble, Texas 77338. Viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Humble, Texas.
The family extends sincere thanks to Shawn, Eva, Kim, Ginger, and René for their devoted, round-the-clock care and support during Shane’s final months.
