Rosemary Garcia Sandefur's Obituary
With deep love and gratitude, we announce the passing of Rosemary Garcia Sandefur, who went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2025, at the age of 95. She passed away peacefully in Cypress, Texas, in the care of her loving family.
Born in Houston, Texas, on November 8, 1929, to John and Mercedes Garcia, Rosemary lived a life centered on faith, family, and love. She had a deep and unwavering love for the Lord Jesus Christ, and she prayed earnestly for those she cherished. Her kindness, devotion, and strength will be remembered by all who knew her.
A hardworking and dedicated woman, Rosemary spent 25 years working in office administration at Lockheed Engineering/NASA, contributing to the aerospace industry while providing for her family. She was a loving mother who worked tirelessly to give her children the very best.
Rosemary found joy in the simple pleasures of life—tending to her beloved roses, calla lilies, and monkey grass, sharing laughter with friends, and savoring her favorite meal of beef fajitas with corn tortillas. More than anything, she treasured time spent with family, especially gatherings with her siblings, children, and grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were spent visiting her mother alongside her brothers and sisters, as well as celebrating special occasions with her daughters and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Terri Elizondo (Adriel Elizondo) and Michelle Cathro (Stewart Cathro); her cherished grandchildren, Esther and (Andrew) Frank, Joseph Elizondo, Jesse and (Laura) Elizondo, Emily and (Chris) Appicelli, Adrien and (Mary) Elizondo, Ethan Cathro, and Joshua Cathro; and her precious great-grandchildren, Eli Elizondo, Jude Elizondo, Charlotte Elizondo, Katie Elizondo, Mia Elizondo, Luke Appicelli, and Rosemary Appicelli. She is also survived by her beloved brothers, Charles (Dorothy) Garcia, Manuel (Mary) Garcia, and Mike Garcia.
She is now reunited in eternal peace with her parents, John and Mercedes Garcia; her brother, Alfred Garcia; and her sisters, Connie Johnstone, JoAnn Milner, Gloria Behrens, and Mary Kaisler.
Rosemary’s unwavering faith, love, and kindness will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched. Her family invites all who knew and loved her to join in celebrating her beautiful life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her honor to Community of Faith, Hockley, TX.
Rest in peace, Rosemary. Your love and legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
