Rosa Elia Moran's Obituary
Rosa Elia Moran departed from us at her home in Houston Texas, on April 4, 2014 at the age of 82. Rosa was born in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico on April 20, 1931. She married the late Manuel Mario Aguirre in 1947 when she was 16 years of age and a few years later they moved to the United States. She resided in Chicago, Illinois; Provo, Utah; San Antonio, Pasadena and Houston, Texas and was widowed in 1960 at the age of 28. She then married the late George Moran Courtney in Houston, Texas in 1965.
Rosa is survived by her seven children: Alma Sillito from Orem, Utah; Aida Olivia from Houston, Texas; Araminda Perez from Citrus Hill, California; Diana Pereyra from Houston, Texas, Mario Aguirre from Bridgeport, Illinois; George Moran Jr. from Pleasant Grove, Utah; and Patricia La Mar from Houston, Texas. She is also survived by 34 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.
Rosa was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her passion for reading, singing, cooking, and caring for people combined with her devotion for her family, made her an exceptional mother, wife, community member and business owner.
A viewing will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday April 7, 2014 at Hardin Family Funeral Home 9034 Long Point Rd. Houston, Texas 77055. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday April 8 at 11:00 am at the LDS Church on 4703 Shadowdale, Houston Texas 77041. Burial will take place right after services 1:45 pm at the Houston National Cemetery -10410 Veterans Memorial Drive Houston, TX 77038.
