Raymond Wayne Hardin Sr's Obituary
Raymond Wayne Hardin, Sr., 65, of Dayton went to his heavenly home on August 18, 2018. He was born on December 8, 1952 in Louisville Kentucky to parents, William “Bill” and Joyce Hardin.
Services for Brother Wayne Hardin will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Grace Community Baptist Church, 8073 FM 1960, Dayton, Texas 77535. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery under the direction of Hardin Family Funeral Home in Houston. The family will receive friends 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday evening also at Grace Community Baptist Church. Serving as pallbearers are his grandchildren, Tristan Oliver, Gage Oliver, Ashton Oliver, Lucas Hardin, Cason Hardin, and Brittany Tenorio. Honorary pallbearer will be Craig Tenorio.
Wayne married the love of his life, Donna, on December 11, 1970. They had three children, Jennifer Hardin, Christy Oliver, and Raymond Hardin, Jr. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. The joy of his life was his grandchildren.
He surrendered to preach the gospel in 1977 and received his Certificate of Ordination on December 31, 1979. On August 1, 1991 he received his Bachelors of Theology from American Bible College. From 1977 until 1989 Wayne served as pastor in the Houston Texas area. In 1989 he and his family moved to Dayton where he pastored Calvary Baptist Church until 1996. For the last 22 years he pastored Grace Community Baptist Church. Wayne loved his Lord and his passion was to share the Word of God with everyone he met. His sense of humor could lighten even the darkest day.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Joyce Hardin; sister, Brenda Smith and brother, Danny Hardin. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Donna Parrott Hardin; children, Jennifer Hardin, Christy Oliver and husband Jason; Raymond Hardin, Jr. and wife Amy; grandchildren, Brittany Tenorio, Craig Tenorio, Tristan Oliver, Gage Oliver, Ashton Oliver, Lucas Hardin, and Cason Hardin; brothers, Jimmy Hardin and wife Pam and Randy Hardin; sisters-in-law, Marion Parrott and Margaret Dempsey; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
