Pamela J. Harris

Pamela Jeanne Harris, beloved mother, daughter, sister, dedicated nurse and friend to all, passed away on February 20, 2016 in Houston, Texas. Pam was born January 30, 1956 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She graduated from South Allegheny High School in 1974 and soon followed her calling to be a nurse. She received her RN from Allegheny County Community College. Pam was a free spirit and marched to her own beat. She was a single Mom who worked a fast paced career as an ER nurse at night. Her kids were her life and her priority, always. Her grandkids held the same special place as her kids. Pam could command a room and leave everyone in her wake with a huge smile. She was the epitome of a strong willed, fiery, independent woman, with a gift for capturing your heart. She loved unconditionally and never passed judgement. She loved her children, and her family was the center of her life. Pam enjoyed music, talking for hours and gathering with family and friends; nothing brought her greater joy. Her greatest pride would have been this gathering that brings all she loved together for even one last time. Pam is preceded in death by her mother, Donna Jeanne Phillips. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Jason L. Harris and wife, Margaret Harris; son, Ian M. Harris and Robyn Welsh; daughter, Breanne Harris and husband, Jesus Valdes; Soul Mate, Bennie Larry and grandchildren, Victor, Natalie, Joel, Emma, Steffan, Evan and Jasmine; father, Bernard W. Phillips; brothers, Gary, Jeff and Doug Phillips. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2016 from 4 o’clock in the afternoon until 8 o’clock in the evening at Hardin Family Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock at Woodlawn Cemetery in Houston with the Rev. Nora Fitch officiating. A Memorial Service will be held following graveside services at St. Thomas Presbyterian Church at 1:30 in the afternoon. The church is located at 14100 Memorial Drive in Houston. “So I’m back, to the velvet underground back to the floor, that I love to a room with some lace and paper flowers back to the gypsy that I was to the gypsy….that I was.”
