Nancy Donovan's Obituary
Nancy Louise Donovan, 56, of San Antonio, passed away with family and friends by her side on January 5, 2018 in Houston, Texas after a courageous battle with cancer. A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, Jan. 29 at 3:00 pm at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Nancy will be interred with her sister at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date in a private service with the family.
Nancy was born in San Antonio to Anthony and Francis Donovan on September 13, 1961. She graduated from John Jay High School in 1979 and went on to earn her BA from the University of Texas at San Antonio. After finishing her education, she began a career in the insurance industry and enjoyed working for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for over 21 years. Nancy loved spending time with her four-legged children, Niki and Maggie, her family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed Thanksgiving with the Donathen-Majors clan, working with her “Blue Family” including happy hours and volunteering with them, NY Rangers hockey, Notre Dame football, trips to Las Vegas, bingo, tennis and boot camp workouts.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Francis, and her sister, Patricia.
Nancy is survived by her sister Karen Donovan, nephews Brandon and Cole Chandler of Houston; nephew Shawn Hugg, wife Conlin & great-niece Kenley of Troy, MI; and nephew Christopher Hugg of San Antonio. The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Jazaeri and the medical team at MD Anderson, her Memorial-Herman Hospice team, friend Allison and everyone who assisted in Nancy’s care.
