Milijana Zivovic's Obituary
Houston - Milijana Zivovic, 85 died Friday, July 8, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bacoglava, Serbia on January 9, 1931. She married Tomislav Zivovic, her late husband, in Kursumlija, Serbia and immigrated to Chicago in 1967 with her four daughters. She and her family developed a close Serbian circle in Chicago with many friends and family who loved her dearly. In 1988, she and her husband moved to Houston to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Milijana, known as "Djula", enjoyed cooking, crochet, card games (tablich) and spending time with her family. Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. In Houston, she attended Saints Constantine & Helen Serbian Orthodox Church where she spent quality time with friends and family. She was a talented cook, and was often asked to make homemade bread (pogaca), stuffed cabbage (sarme), pita, and Serbian cookies. Milijane is survived by her daughters, Donna, Ljubica, Zlatica, and Sladjana; son in laws;, Nenad, Mike and Branko; eight grandchildren whom she adored: Ivana (Bob), Oliver (Angie), Aleksandar (Ailee), Marko (Melissa), Natalia (Drew), Stevan, Boban and Kristina; four great-grandchildren: Mila, Lazo, Ana Puskac, and Isla Draga and son-in-law Tomo Premovic. She loved her dog, Mala, a true companion.
A memorial celebration of Milijana's life will be celebrated at 4:00 o'clock p.m. Thursday, July 14th, 2016 in Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd, Houston, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm. in Hot Springs Arkansas Saturday, July 16 2016 in Serbian Orthodox Church St. Archangel Michael, 384 Mount Riante Road, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Interment will follow in the Serbian Church Cemetery.
