Today, we honor and celebrate the life of Mary Ann Jones, a beloved woman whose presence brought warmth, strength, and love to all who knew her. She was a devoted wife, mother, twin, sister, aunt, grandmother, and friend—someone whose life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and service.
Born on March 9, 1944, in Mansfield, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Leander Jones and Janie B. Gray. Mary Ann attended school in DeSoto Parish and was raised with strong values that shaped her into a woman of resilience, compassion, and unwavering love. Baptized at an early age, her faith guided her throughout her life and remained a steady foundation in all she did. As a twin, she understood the beauty of deep connection and lifelong bonds. Family was at the center of her world, and she poured herself fully into nurturing, supporting, and loving those around her. Her home was a place of care, strength, and belonging.
On January 24, 2026, she peacefully transitioned, leaving behind a powerful legacy of love. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and several beloved siblings. She leaves behind her first husband D.L. Davis, from that union, she was blessed with 3 children Fredrick Charles Jones Sr. (Katherine), Alma Ruth Horton (Barry), Leander Davis. Later in life, she was blessed to find love again and leave behind her second husband, James Turner Sr., and from that union, they have 1 son, James Turner Jr. She loved all four of her children deeply and was immensely proud of them. She is also remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy, along with a large extended family of sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and friends. Her influence reached far beyond names—it lived in actions, guidance, and unconditional love.
Though she is no longer physically present, her spirit remains woven into the lives she shaped. Her love will continue to guide her family, her memory will continue to comfort them, and her legacy will endure for generations to come.
