Margaret "Margie" Cardenas' Obituary
Margaret “Margie” Cardenas, born on November 17, 1957 passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021. Margie was born and raised in Houston, Texas where she lived all of her life. She was born to parents Jose and Felicitas Cardenas, the first of six children. Margie was married to Wesley D. Kay in 1981 until his passing in 2003. She worked as a healthcare professional in the Texas Medical Center for over 30 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Felicitas O. Cardenas (1994), Jose Cardenas (2010) and husband, Wesley D. Kay (2003) and is survived by her daughters, Lauren and Faith Kay, son-in-law, Seferino Irachete, granddaughter Scarlett Irachete, sisters, Doris Buchanan (†Tim), Josie Cavazos (Jesse), Veronica Cirilo (†Joel), brothers, Felix Cardenas, Alphonso Cardenas (Melinda) and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as several in-laws of the Kay Family.
Margie was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on all of her Houston teams. She enjoyed spending everyday with her granddaughter Scarlett and being her “Gigi”. She loved her cats Jack, Colt and Charlie. She also loved listening to all kinds of music from country to disco and always wanted to dance. Margie was one of the kindest and wisest people many of her friends and family will ever know. We will forever remember her lovingly and she will be sorely missed from all of our lives.
