Corporal James Earl Polk's Obituary
Houston, TX – Corporal James Earl Polk, US Marine Corps, made his journey to the Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the age of 52.
James or “Cowboy”, as he was known by many, was born on February 20, 1971, in Houston, Texas to Alice Agnew Polk and Frank James Pines, Sr. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1990 to 1995 and is a Gulf War veteran, receiving many medals for his accomplishments.
James loved everyone and never met a stranger. He enjoyed fishing, landscaping, music, and having a good time with family and friends. He was a legend on the football field playing for Lamar High School, loved talking about sports, and most of all watching his son follow in his footsteps. James loved life and lived life to its fullest.
James is survived by the loves of his life, his three children, Kylie Mowry, Braedon Mowry, and Landan Mowry, all of Katy, Texas, as well as his children’s mother and partner, Wendy Mowry; his loving sisters, CeCelia Polk, Dorothy (Gary) Polk, Lillie Pines, Shirley Pines, and Fran Chetta Pines; his brothers, David (Pam) Agnew, Donald Polk, Willard Polk, and Frank Pines, Jr.; his beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins, all of whom he adored; and his father Frank James Pines, Sr.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Alice Agnew Polk, his beloved brother Michael Polk, and his sister, Cheryl Polk.
The family will receive friends for the viewing on September 7, 2023, beginning at 11:00 AM and concluding at 12:00 PM when the funeral service will begin at Rasberry Family Funeral Home, 9034 Long Point Road, Houston, TX 77055.
A graveside ceremony, with military honors, will be held at 2:15 PM, September 7, 2023, in the Houston National Cemetery at 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77038.
