Herbert Leslie Bennett's Obituary
Herbert Leslie Bennett, 77, of LaPorte passed away on October 30, 2014. He was born on September 23, 1937 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to parents, Homer Lee Bennett and Lola Mae Harvell Bennett. Herbert is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Leroy Bennett and sister, Helen Joyce DeLeon. He is survived by his wife, Renate Bennett; daughter, Heide Lola Leland and husband Brad Harrison Leland; son; Henry Lee Bennett and wife Mele Fineula Bennett; sisters, Belvery Annette Collins and Sandra Faye Templeton; brothers, Donald Brady Bennett and Larry Lee Bennett; grandchildren, James Russell Leland, Joseph William Leland, Michael Logan Leland, Harrison Lisiate Bennett and Harold Luke Bennett.
A Celebration of Herbert Bennett's life will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:15 am at Houston National Cemetery with Deacon Gordon Robertson Officiating. The Houston Honor Guard will conduct full military honors.
Serving as pallbearers will be: James Russell Leland, Joseph William Leland, Michael Logan Leland, Harrison Lisiate Bennett, Harold Luke Bennett, Brad Harrison Leland, and Henry Lee Bennett.
For those attending the service, please arrive no earlier than 10:00 am and gather in Lane #2 for an escort to the pavilion where services will be conducted.
