Mr Henry C Winzer's Obituary
On March16, 2015, Henry C Winzer,88, of Houston, Texas went home to glory. He was born March 10, 1927 in Lincoln Parish, LA to Jessie Winzer Sr and Julie Bell Tower Winzer.
On Oct 11, 1952, Henry was drafted into the United States Army where he began as a Private E-1, and was promoted to PFC in the Co B 160th Infantry Regiment. While in the Army he fought in the Korean conflictand was awarded the Korean Service Medal. He received 2 Bronze Stars, the UN Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Henry was honorably discharged from the US Army August 18, 1954. After discharge he returned to Suggs Landscape Company in Houston, Texas where he was employed prior ot being drafted into the Army.
He is survived by his daughters, Beverly Williams(Shedrick), Brenda Peoples, Kytha Beo, Wanda Franklin(Henry). Grandsons Lorenzo Williams and Remington Williams. Special appreciation to Beverly who went above and beyond for the care and compassion she gave to Henry.
He is predeceased by his sisters, Janie Winzer Jones, Arlester Winzer Jackson, Annie Lou Winzer Butler, and Hazel Winzer; brothers, Leonard Paul Winzer, Simmie Winzer and Jessie Winzer, Jr. All of his immediate family has preceded him in death.
A few of his pastimes were enjoying visiting the casino, gardening and fishing.
