Henry Charles Matthews Jr.'s Obituary
Henry “Bubba” Charles Matthess, Jr., age 70 years, passed away on January 16, 2025,
in Houston Harris County, Texas.
Henry was born July 27, 1954 in Houston, Harris County, Texas to Henry Charles Matthews, Sr. and Frances LaVerne Nugent Matthews, the youngest of four children.
He is survived by former wife, Nancy Corder Matthews and their two sons, Henry Charles Matthews, III, and Albert Eugene Matthews, two sisters, Sharon Eileen Smith and Frances Diane Porter, niece, Kathy Proske Falkenbury and nephew, David Charles Proske and numerous great nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and will be greatly missed by all.
Henry is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Karen Kathleen Proske of Houston, Tx.
Henry attended Waltrip High School ‘73
He followed in his Father’s footsteps and worked at Rein Printing Company and also
Gulf Printing Company.
“Bubba” dearly loved saltwater fishing, dirt bikes, and tinkering with automobiles. An avid music and movie enthusiast as his extensive cd and dvd collection will attest.
A graveside celebration of Henry’s life will be held (tentative date) Friday, January 24,2025 11:00am at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine Dr, Houston, TX 77055
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Bubba”s name, Henry Charles Matthews, Jr. to be sent to St Jude Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
