Gilbert Wilmot Jr.'s Obituary
Gilbert Wilmot, Jr. passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020 in Kingwood, Texas with his wife Sandy by his side. Gilbert was born on January 12, 1958 in Corpus Christi, Texas to parents Gilbert Wilmot, Sr. and Florentina Guerre. Gilbert is preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Gloria Martinez. Born in Corpus Christi, he grew up in Port Lavaca and in Houston. He met and later married Sandy Moore in 2006 and they have resided in Dayton, Texas at the time of his death. He was a gifted and talented drummer for 35 – 40 years and performed in many types of bands all over the Houston area. When he and Sandy joined Grace Community Baptist Church in Dayton, Gilbert became the drummer at Church and played on Sunday morning services. He was a very talented Paint and Body Man, having started around the age of 14. He is survived by his wife, Sandra "Sandy" Moore Wilmot; two sisters, Delores Zamora and her husband Richard and Irene Chapman and her husband David; nieces and nephews, Melina, Edna, Tony, Robert, JoAnn, Daniel, Michelle, Yvonne, Terry, Tina and many more. He is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jimmy Martinez and numerous other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service for Gilbert Wilmot will be held at his church in Dayton on Saturday February 22, 2020 at 1 o'clock in the afternoon. Rev. Marvin Dennison will officiate the Memorial Service.
