Geraldine "Gigi" Armstrong's Obituary
Geraldine "Gigi" Armstrong passed away peacefully in her home on November 30, 2023 in Houston, Texas at the age of 97.
Geraldine is survived by her daughters Carol Counce, Cynthia Borgman and brother, David Cervantes, along with her grandchildren Alyssa Castro, Cristina Counce, Blake Counce, and Ronald Strickland Jr. She is preceded in death by her son, Joseph Stephen Castro, her husband, Warren Armstrong, along with her sisters, Manuela Martinez, Inez Miranda, Mary Carnes, Janie Castro, and Elvira Rodriguez, her brothers Alfredo Cervantes, Joe Cervantes, Ricardo Cervantes, Jimmy Cervantes, Valentino Cervantes and Felix Cervantes, as well as her parents Alfredo Cervantes and Euralia Cervantes.
Geraldine was born in Houston, Texas to Alfredo and Euralia Cervantes on January 10, 1926. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1944. She was a part of the Black Battalion and her first job was as a switchboard attendant. She also worked at the Downtown Warwick Hotel and later retired from Telecheck after working there several years.
Her grandchildren remember her as a fun and feisty grandma who loved having her family around her with a house full of laughter.

Gigi lived a beautiful, long life and will be greatly missed.
