Elizabeth Ann Mackey's Obituary
ELIZABETH ANN “BITSY” MACKEY, 85, beloved mother and grandmother “Nonny”, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at her home in Sugar Land ,Texas. She was born in Waco, Texas on August 5, 1934 to her late parents James B. Smith and Claudia Glass. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl T. Mackey, Sr., son Kenneth Lee “Kenny” Cole, stepson James Earl Mackey, stepdaughter Mary Elizabeth “Sis” Mackey, great-grandson Drake Ryan Cole, and brothers Ralph L. “Buddy” and James B. “Jimmy” Smith Jr.
She had 7 children, and is survived by daughter Cynthia Cole “Cindy” Remeny of Kemah, son Craig Evans Cole of Midlothian, son John Thomas “Johnny” Cole, III of Conroe, son Charles Edward “Chuck” Cole of Sugar Land, daughter Terri Mackey Stanley of Missouri City, son Earl Thomas “Tommy” Mackey, Jr. of Sugar Land, stepson Robert Bryant Mackey of Burton and their respective spouses. She is also survived by her loving sisters Linda Uhlenhoff of Katy, Martha Heathcott of Missouri City and Nancy Parks Smith of Stafford. Grandchildren, Travis Clemons, Michael Cole, Marilyn Cole, Kyle Stanley, Ashley Clemons, Katy Stanley, Brandon Remeny, David Cole, Katlin Cole, Mark Briers, Amber Covington, Katie Zwahr and Paige Imwalle, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws. Bitsy truly loved her family and they will cherish the memories they have and continue to hold her in their hearts forever.
Due to the ongoing pandemic, a private graveside service will be held April 27, 2020 at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston. Pallbearers will be Kyle Stanley, Travis Clemons, Mark Briers, Brandon Remeny, Gary Clemons II, David Cole, Jay Smith and Steven Remeny. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
