Elijah J Oliver's Obituary
Elijah James Oliver, born on July 6, 1981 to Melinda Oliver and James L. Allen, transitioned on July 18, 2024 at MD Anderson Cancer Center after losing his battle to cancer. He leaves behind his mother and siblings Joseph, Lashae, Leon, and Tomecia, Patrick, Samuel Earl, Gregory, Cory, and Saca. Preceded in his death are his father James Allen, his brothers A.J., James, and his baby sister Shauntina. He also leaves behind Aunt Patricia Knapp and Aunt Mac Farrow, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly.
Elijah and Olivia were together for 20 years, during this time the couple learned life lessons and laughed together while raising their two beautiful children, Elijah Jr and Zya Oliver. He used his father as an example of what a great dad is supposed to be while being a fun loving parent like his mom.
Elijah graduated from Spring Woods high school, where he met his longtime friends who became like brothers. After graduation, he began his music making quest which included making five albums, both solo and with his group OMAID Entertainment. His artistic journey included writing short stories, including his published story, My Dad said "You Should Never Throw Rocks at a Wasp Nest". He was an avid sports fan who supported all Houston teams, no matter the record.
Elijah would think of an idea and would bring it to fruition. He was a family man who loved his children, wife, siblings, and parents dearly. He fought his battle with cancer to the very end, with his loved ones by his side, every step of the way. Through all the pain, he was still cracking jokes and bringing a smile to our face.
