Linda Diane “Lady Di” Boyd Fontenot
August 11, 1951 - June 8, 2020
Linda Diane “Lady Di” Boyd Fontenot passed away on June 8th, 2020 in Houston, TX. She was 68 years old.
Lady Di was born on August 11,1951 to Glenn and Doris Boyd. She was a lifelong resident of Houston and a graduate of Robert E Lee High School. In 1982, she married the love of her life, Ken Fontenot. After a successful career and retirement from Unum Insurance, Di and Ken owned and operated Cycle Sports Ltd of Houston and Houston Cycle Insurance until their retirement in 2019. Di is best described as the strongest, most loving, kind and generous person anyone would ever meet. She had an infectious smile that could brighten even the darkest of days. Although a horrible photographer, she was often seen taking photos and video of music performances as well as friends and family (although most photos are unrecognizable due to missing heads). Di was also an avid animal lover. She would meet, greet, and feed any animal that crossed her path. She touched many lives with her generosity and was well known throughout the Houston motorcycle and music scenes. Lady Di was a shining star that will be missed by friends and family near and far.
Di is survived by her husband, Ken Fontenot and her beloved dog Mac, her son Shane Davis and wife Shelley of Tomball, TX, daughter Shawn Fontenot and husband Chris Hoss of Sunset, LA, grandchildren Dillon Gibbs of Tomball, TX, Korey Hoss and Alexis Hammond of Sunset, LA, sister Candace Boyd of Dallas, TX, and brother Kevin Boyd of Arlington, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Doris Boyd.
There will be a gathering and visitation of friends and family on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Hardin Family Funeral Home located at 9034 Long Point Rd. Houston, TX 77055. The gathering will be very casual just as Di would have wanted it. Following the viewing on Friday evening, there will be a celebration of life for Di starting at 8:30 pm at 1810 Ojeman. The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 10:00 am at Hardin Family Funeral Home followed by a drive to Woodlawn Mausoleum located at 1101 Antoine Dr. Houston, TX 77055.
