Diana Gutierrez's Obituary
Diana Gutierrez, 61, of Victoria, Texas entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, December 26, 2015.
Diana was born to Juan Francisco Gutierrez Sr. and Catarina Sandoval Gutierrez in Victoria, Texas. Diana is preceded in death by her parents and eldest sister, Noemi Gutierrez.
Diana is survived by her daughters, Lenora Cano Emerson and Mary Cano McHenry; two loving sons-in-law Don Nicholas Emerson, Jr. and Steven Andrew (Andy) McHenry; six grandchildren, Kristen, Sarah, Joey, Brandon, Paige and Kenzie; two great-grandchildren Logan and Luci; and her siblings Frank, Xavier, Samia, Georgiana, Della, Sammy and Jessica Gutierrez and as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and her best friend Tyson (Boo-Boo).
Diana worked at the Victoria Advocate for a number of years before moving to Houston, Texas in 1984. She primarily worked in administrative and accounting positions over the years and ultimately began working for ExxonMobil in 2000 where she was loved and respected by her peers. She enjoyed singing in the church choir at practically every church she attended; and gave of herself by going on several mission trips to Latin America. She served others as God asked her to and had a great love for Latin people and culture. One of her greatest personal accomplishments was becoming a fitness instructor in kickboxing and Body Pump. Her strength clearly came in different forms; spiritual and physical. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends until we see her again in Heaven.
