Colleen Louise Hammonds' Obituary
Colleen Louise Hammonds, 90, of Houston, passed away on September 10, 2018. She was born on April 12, 1928 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Alvin L. and Marion Kathleen Sherrill McWhirter. She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Charles Hammonds, brother David and his wife Delores McWhirter, Brian McWhirter, and sister-in-law Peggy McWhirter. She was a member of Garden Oaks Baptist Church for over 40 years. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Doss and her husband Larry; Grandchildren Wayne Doss and his wife Kari, Ken Doss and his wife Kelley, and great- grandchildren Chloe, J. T., Aidan, Logan, Kalli, Lexie and Lacie and special family friend Jennifer. Brothers Paul and his wife Barbara McWhirter, Bruce and his wife Marie McWhirter and Chris McWhirter, Sister Marjorie McAdam and sister-in-law Dorothy McWhirter. Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kenneth and Shirley Hammonds and their family, plus numerous nieces and nephews and other family members and a host of friends.
Viewing will be Friday, September 14, 2018 from 5 – 8 pm. Service will be Saturday 2 pm at Hardin Family Funeral Home.
