Charryse Johnson's Obituary
Charryse LaDonne Johnson was born on November 2, 1975, in Mobile, AL, to her loving parents, Charles Wiggins and Loretta Brye Wiggins. She accepted Christ at a young age and dedicated herself to serving in various church ministries throughout her Christian journey.
In 1981, Charryse moved to Houston, TX, with her parents, where she grew up and completed her education. She graduated from James Madison High School in the Class of 1993. During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Ralph Buche Johnson II, and they were married in 1995. Together, they welcomed four sons: Rashad, Sean, Ralph Isaiah, and Spencer Johnson. In 2024, Charryse's heart was filled with joy as she celebrated the arrival of her first grandson.
Charryse earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Houston and later received a graduate degree in Counseling from the University of Houston-Victoria. Her innovative work ethic led her to create one of the first Gospel video shows on a local cable network, known as The Light Gospel Video Show.
Professionally, Charryse worked as an Educator and Counselor in both Houston ISD and Alief ISD. She was also. published author, and supported her sister, Kim, in her entrepreneurial journey at LAMIK Beauty. Together with her husband, Ralph Johnson, she co-founded RSI Systems, where she served as President. Later on, she became an insurance agent with Farmers Insurance.
Charryse was deeply passionate about community involvement. She held the position of First Vice President of NWOA Achievers in the Sugar Land Chapter and served as Executive Director of Barbara Jordan Endeavors, now known as S.A.F.E. Diversity Communities.
Additionally, she was active with Dreams Unleashed She Networks as Board Vice President and Membership Chair, and she mentored students through the Dream Weavers Program. Charryse is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Ralph Buche Johnson II, her children Rashad, Sean, Ralph Isaiah, Spencer Johnson, and her grandson Ezekiel. She is also cherished by her father, Pastor Charles J. Wiggins (Sonya), her mother-in-law Sherrell Johnson, her sisters Charlene Johnson (Albert), Kimberly Roscoe (Roosevelt), Grace Wiggins, her brothers Charles Wright (Bonnie), Mark Stevens (Valerie), Jeremiah Glasper, her sister-in-law Sherrika Arch (Joaquinn), and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
