Cecile Ann Kinkle's Obituary
Cecile Ann Kinkle passed away at Memorial Hermann Hospital on January 1, 2019. She was born Cecile Ann Stoker on September 25, 1933 in Nacogdoches, TX, to Cecile and James Pinkard Stoker, Sr. Ann graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, TX as the top ranking female honor student of her class, and was also a member of the National Honor Society. She earned a Bachelor’s in Education from Lamar College in Beaumont, which led to a Masters in Education from Stephen F. Austin University.
Ann was an elementary school teacher in Texas and Tennessee for over 20 years. After retiring, many years were spent working in Bethel Church of Houston’s Mother’s Day Out program, where she cared for a whole generation of pre-school aged children.Hobbies included playing both board and card games, but she especially enjoyed working in her garden.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Wallace Kinkle, their daughter Karen, and her brother James Pinkard Stoker, Jr. Ann is survived by her son Kelly Philip Kinkle, daughter-in-law Hiromi Kawamoto, daughter Laura Ray, son-in-law Steven Ray, sisters Betty Ruth Meriwether and Doris White, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
