Catherine Marie Diehl White's Obituary
Catherine Marie Diehl White was born on September 14, 1933, in Houston, Texas to parents Anna Mary Heintz Diehl and Nicholas Michael Diehl. At the age of 90, on June 22, 2024, she left her place on earth and was received into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ to celebrate her homecoming and to take her place in her new home.
Catherine and James Warren White, Jr. dated for more than a decade before they married on November 5, 1971. They were married until Warren passed away at age 94 on February 24, 2021. Catherine had already entered assisted living care for dementia at age 83 in 2016 and lived there until she passed. The blessed couple were married 49 years and 3 months.
Catherine and Warren were forever life partners as best friends and husband and wife. They also partnered in life to create and develop a family real estate business. Their hard work provided them with a comfortable life as well as the honor of contributing to the betterment of the lives of others. The greatest contribution was to the work of Jesus Christ through their respective church ministries. After a life-long journey in her Christian faith as a Roman Catholic, at the age of seventy in 2003, Catherine joined Warren in worship and service at Westbury Baptist Church, Houston. Over their lifetime together, they made significant contributions to the mission of Christianity.
Even though Catherine and Warren did not have children, Catherine became a strong family matriarch as she embraced her large extended family that resulted from her two brothers. Her older brother William “Bill”- had nine children: Dennis, Michael, David, Deborah, Richard, Catherine, Timothy, Melinda, and Tammie. Her younger brother Claude had two children: Allen and Janie. Likewise, there were scores of other family members.
A private, family celebration will be observed and Catherine will be buried by the side of Warren at the La Grange City Cemetery in the City of La Grange, Texas. There will only be interment with no gravesite services.
