Carolyn Kinkaid Beall's Obituary
Carolyn Kinkaid Beall died July 7, 2019, following a short hospital stay just prior to her 89th birthday. Known for her love of missions and years of teaching children in Sunday School, Carolyn was a devoted wife of William Brooks Beall for 53 years. Her love for her family was one of her greatest joys. Her faith in Jesus Christ gave her great comfort in this life and for eternity.
Carolyn Kinkaid was born on August 1, 1930, in Oklahoma City. She grew up there and graduated from Classen High School with various awards. She attended Monticello Junior College in Illinois, the University of Tulsa, and graduated from the University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman with a degree in Home Economics. She was a member of Delta Gamma Sorority and served as the Kappa Sig Sweetheart during her time at OU. She became Carolyn Beall after marrying William “Bill” Beall on November 17, 1951. She followed him in his career in the energy business with moves to Oklahoma City, Wichita, Fort Worth, and finally, Houston. In addition to serving her husband as a faithful wife, she was a teacher of children’s Sunday School for over 30 years, the director of the WMU, and a teacher of children’s conferences at Glorieta Baptist Conference Center. Carolyn loved her church, Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston, and served in many capacities. Carolyn’s hobbies included cooking, sewing, travel, reading, and spending time with her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her brothers, Don Kinkaid and Richard Kinkaid; and her sister, Mary Ann Beck. She is survived by a daughter, Susan Beall Cutrell and her husband, Curt, of Sulphur Springs, TX; a son, Randy Beall and his wife, Mary, of Garland, TX; a son, John Beall and wife, Angelique, of Houston; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brad Cutrell and wife, Crystal, and sons, Levi and Isaiah, of Dallas; Ben Cutrell and wife, Sarah, and sons, Jay and Sam, of Lexington, KY; Melissa Cutrell Peugh and husband, Josh, and daughters, Finley and Isla, of Sulphur Springs; Laura Beall of Grapevine; Jenny Beall Jacobsen and husband, Landon, and daughter, Hallie, of Denver, CO; Justin Beall and wife, Ashley, of Denver, CO, and Josh Beall of Houston. She is also survived by a sister, Cynthia Kinkaid Walker of Benbrook, TX, and several nieces and nephews.
Carolyn will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones. Services will be on Friday, July 12 at the chapel of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs with a visitation at 1 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. An additional service will be held on Monday, July 15 at the chapel of Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston (555 Tallowood Drive) at 11 a.m. followed by a visitation/reception. Donations may be made to PRISMS.org (Parents and Researchers Interested in Smith-Magenis Syndrome) in honor of her granddaughter, Laura Beall. Final burial will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
