Burton Alvin Fowler Sr.'s Obituary
Burton Alvin Fowler, 92 of Dayton passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was born on September 20, 1927 in Madison County, Mississippi to parents Moses N. and Lillian McCrory Fowler. Burton was the oldest of 18 children. Of all of the siblings, only three survive him. He is survived by his children, Burton Alvin Fowler, Jr. and wife Cheryl, Ann Arthur, Elizabeth Sanford and husband Ron, Betty Christine Espinosa and husband Alfred, and Mark Fowler and wife Annie; grandchildren, Michelle Hardy, Michael Fowler, David Smith, Jr., Timothy Smith, John Pounders, Jr., Anthony Pounders, Ida Maria Cole, Tonya Smith, Joni Thrift, Mark Fowler, Jr., Steven Fowler and Jamie Cooper. Burton is also survived by his thirty three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He is now with the love of his life, Ida Clark Fowler who passed away in November of 2017. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 6 o’clock in the evening until 9 o’clock at Grace Community Baptist Church in Dayton. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 10 o’clock in the morning with his son-in-law, Alfred Espinosa officiating. Burton will be laid to rest beside his loving wife, Ida at Palms Memorial Park Cemetery in Dayton immediately following services. Honored to serve as pallbearers are, Michael Fowler, Tim Hardy, David Smith, Jr., Timothy Smith, John Pounders, Jr., Stephen Smith, Mark Fowler, Jr., Steven Fowler, and Joe Allen Fowler.
