Brenda (BJ) Hardin Smith's Obituary
Brenda Hardin Smith, 61, passed away on September 8th, 2016 at 4:10 pm surrounded by her family and friends. She was born June 27th, 1955 in Houston, Texas to Rev. William Raymond Hardin and Joyce Searcy Hardin. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, as well as her brother, Danny Hardin. She is survived by her daughters Stacy K Cline and Penny Rene’ Emerson; her brothers, Wayne Hardin and wife Donna; Jimmy Hardin and wife Pam; Randy Hardin and sister Nola Rose, Her many grandchildren, Anthony Ramirez; Zachary Emerson; Caleb Cline; Zayne Emerson; Landyn Cline; Jules Sanders; Evan Sanders; Jaxon Sanders; and Tiffany; her great-grandson, Brody; her step-daughter, Stephanie; husband, Curtis Smith and numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Brenda spent her life helping others. As a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt, she went above and beyond to make sure care was given to her family’s needs. She was a very caring and compassionate person, and always put the needs of others before her own. Brenda had a lot of love to give to everyone that surrounded her, she loved her family unconditionally. Brenda, known to her friends as BJ, was loyal, honest, and giving. Her friends quickly became a part of her family. Brenda cared so deeply about everyone she met; they instantly fell in love with her. She had such a deep bond with her nieces and nephews; they loved her like another mother. Her foster children learned great lessons from her life that will be forever instilled into their hearts. As a worker, she worked tirelessly her entire life to give everyone she knew the best they could have. She was committed and enjoyed her work until the day she retired. Everyone that encountered her was left with her handprint on their heart.
Brenda was diagnosed with renal failure in 2015; she kept her spirits up and spent every moment she could with her grandchildren and daughters. She fought tirelessly to stay with those she loved, but she was called home. She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church Saturday September 10, 2016 at 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Grace Community Baptist Church Sunday September 11, 2016 at 2:00pm. Reception will follow after the church service and then will be moved to Stacy Cline’s residence 3530 Hill Springs Dr. Kingwood, TX 77345
