Bertha Casa Montoya's Obituary
Bertha Montoya, a long-time resident of El Paso and Houston, died Monday the 9th of March at Kinder Memorial Healthcare Center. She was born in 1942 in Jimenez, Chihuahua, Bertha worked many years at Hotel Dieu Hospital in El Paso, Texas. She worked in the school system cafeteria upon moving to Houston in 1995. She also worked as a secretary for many years in the family run car business.
Bertha was a wonderful, funny, beautiful, and giving person. She selflessly helped raise her siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. Bertha loved good food and socializing, enjoyed going to movies and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She leaves a legacy of funny moments but more importantly, beautiful memories and loving relationships. Her strength and faith through her cancer is an inspiration to us all.
She is survived by her brother, Jose Armando, sisters, Maria del Socorro and Martha Elena and countless grandnephews and grandnieces, all of whom love her very much and brought great joy to her later years. Viewing will be Thursday the 12th from 3-7 pm and Rosary will begin at 7 pm:
