Adele Thierry's Obituary
Leona Adele (Bobino) Thierry of Beaumont, Texas was born on February 5, 1925 to Adam Bobino and Angelina Thibodeaux. She was affectionately known by many as “Adell”.
On September 22, 1952, she married her late husband, Herbert John Thierry. Together they raised two children, Debra Thierry Criss and Gerald Thierry.
One of her favorite hobbies was sewing. She sewed many of her own dresses and suits. She especially loved sewing outfits for the annual Memorial of Jesus’ death for herself and her grandchildren. In addition
to sewing, she loved to travel and she loved to dance to Zydeco and blues music. Her energy and personality was fun and infectious. In September of 1953 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her love for Jehovah and her dedication to the preaching work were by far the most important things in her life. Each person she studied the Bible with was special to her. She was known to be a common sight sitting in her chair on the steps of the Beaumont courthouse for many years sharing the good news with anyone who would listen from judges to criminals. If you asked her what she did for a living she would say she was a preacher of the good news.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Adam Bobino and Angelina Thibodeaux; her husband, Herbert Thierry; her sister, Mary Lee Essie Bobino Bell; her daughter, Debra Thierry Criss; and other family
members.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Thierry (Ann Marie); grandchildren, Marcie Waleford (Barron), Judith Thierry, Jeremy Thierry, Jessica McGill, Herbert Thierry (Amanda); nephew, Bennie Jones, Sr. (Elaine); and niece, Veraldine Jones Lefebvre. Also left to cherish her memories are her great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
