James "Jim" Mabry

James ‘Jim” Mabry 06/19/1938 – 12/2/2022 James “Jim” Myron Mabry, loving husband to Pam Mabry, went to be with the Lord peacefully on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the age of 84. Jim Mabry was born on June 19, 1938 to Cecil and Francis Mabry. He was raised in Dallas, Texas with his three younger siblings William “Billy” Mabry, Robert “Bobby” Mabry, and Lynnda Mabry. After graduating from Sunset High School and attending the University of Oklahoma for two years, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1958 – 1964. Upon completing his military service, Jim enrolled at the University of Texas, where he earned both his bachelor’s degree and law degree. Jim practiced law for 45 years before reluctantly retiring at the age of 81, only due to the loss of his eyesight. He married Pamela Gail Mabry on December 14, 1979 in Houston Texas, where they raised their 2 children, Dallas Mabry and Deborah Mabry. His loving memory will always be held for the dedication and devotion that he had for his family. He served faithfully at Second Baptist Church, where he has been a member for 43 years. His joy in life was teaching first grade Sunday school in the children’s ministry where he was famously known as “Mr. Jim”. Jim was also a lifetime committeeman with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo serving on the Steer Auction Committee since 1986. He truly enjoyed the company of people and never met a stranger. His natural charisma and passion for life drew people to him. Jim is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pam Mabry; his daughter, Deborah Mabry; his son Dallas Mabry, daughter in-law Leslie Mabry and two grandchildren Elle Mabry and Dallas James Mabry. He also leaves behind his sister Lynnda Mabry, nephew Damon Cadena, niece Saucy Nettles and many other family and friends. There will be a reception help in the Deacons Parlor after services.
