Mr. Geary Lynn Watts

On Wednesday, December 25th, 2024, Geary Lynn Watts, beloved and devoted husband, father, son, and brother passed peacefully in the company and care of his lifelong partner and wife of 50 years, Debbie Watts. He is further survived by his sons Jason Watts and Blake Watts, parents Billy and Juanita Watts, sister Cynthia Hardy, daughters-in-law Fionnuala(Jason) Ross and Amanda(Blake) Watts as well as his adoring grandchildren Jude and Beatrix Watts and Oliver, Oakley, and Ophelia Watts, and his dog, Jett . He is predeceased by his sister Kathy Larkin. Geary was born in Brookhaven, MS, moved to Houston,TX with his family at the age of five, and later graduated from Cy-Fair High School in Houston,TX where he lived for most of his life. His career was primarily in outside sales in the oil and gas industry at Cameron, Drilling Tools, Stewart & Stevenson, and Superior Energy Services as well as several years operating Creative Custom Homes as a solo general contractor in Montgomery,TX. His career sent him as far afield as Canada, France, UAE, and Saudi Arabia and brought him into contact with colleagues from across the globe. An adventurer at heart, he was always diving deep into any endeavor that piqued his interest. Whether it was hunting, golfing, building, or racing things with his sons, coaching little league sports, or pursuing his greatest passion, being on the water, Geary made the most of every moment. As an avid water skier in the 1970s and 80s and a lifelong fisherman, he spent countless hours boating and fishing with friends and family, often setting records and winning tournaments. His enthusiasm for the water was infectious, guiding and aiding others to their own wonderful experiences. This enthusiasm undoubtedly played a role in his career as a salesman, where his knack for persuasion was evident in both his professional and personal life. Geary was the one who could convince others to take a chance on whatever he was selling. With his gift of gab and charm, Geary captivated many. He possessed an equally remarkable ability to form connections with both new acquaintances and old friends. As a devoted family man, Geary generously shared his time with his loved ones. He was a loyal son and son-in-law, actively involved in running family businesses and taking on any task that could contribute to their well-being. As a father, providing unwavering support for his children’s interests held immense importance for him. Consequently, his children, and later grandchildren, never lacked anything within his means to fulfill their desires. As a husband his love for Debbie was unwavering and clear. In the end, and throughout their time together, he viewed her with the same awe and reverence as he did fifty years prior on their wedding day. At Geary’s request a celebration of life will be held, January 18th, 11am, at Thousand Trails Lake Conroe Marina Pavillion.
